Her character in Lisa McDowell, a romantic comedy about coming to America (1988) and its sequel Coming 2 America (2021) is her most well-known role. Headley was also seen in The Preacher's Wife (1996) as well as Johnson Family Vacation (2004). Headley was the character of Detective Mimi Reed on ABC's daytime soap opera All My Children from 1991-1994.
