She released her debut single, Here, in 2015 at the age of aged 19. It received lots of acclaim and was well received from critics as well as listeners. In the Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of 2015. She released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. Based on an interview she gave together with Rap Up, the song held a lot of meaning for many people who listened to her personal story of learning to accept and love yourself. Cara is famous for including the themes of mental health and kindness and self-love into her music. Her music is an expression of her own personal struggles with mental illness and insomnia. According to a Reuters' interview, she's described her album half tumultuous however, it is half finished. The therapy she received has helped her develop and encourages people to try it too. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician born in Canada on 11 July 1996, was a daughter of Italian parents of Italian descent. She was given a guitar by her parents when she turned 10 which ignited her passion for music. In 2013, she covered her favorite songs for YouTube the most popular social media site. It was done to show that she had the capability and the self-confidence to be an artist. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the first thing that made her stand out. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and compose her own music.
