Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian heritage. Her parents bought her a new guitar, which she used to further develop her passion for the music. In the age of 13, she started covering songs she adored on YouTube to prove to the public that she was talented and brave enough to make a profession of a musician.
