Her debut single, Here, in 2015 at the age of 19 years old. It was a huge smash and garnered praise from both listeners and critics alike. It reached number 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the song one of the Top Songs of the year. Her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top of the charts on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. The track in question was unique since based on her interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans related to her journey of doubting herself and learning how to accept herself. Cara's music is known to include messages of kindness self-love, self-love and mental wellness. The music she sings is reflective of her personal struggle with mental illness and insomnia. In an interview with Reuters she declared her album to be "half turbulent" as well as "half complete". She tells people that she found her growth during therapy. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. Her birth date was July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian heritage. In 2010, her parents bought her a new guitar, which she used to develop her passion for the music. At the age of thirteen, she began singing songs she liked on YouTube to demonstrate to the public that she was talented and had the courage to pursue a career as a musician. Sweater Weather is among those covers that led to her being discovered to be signed by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create new songs of her own.
