Alessia Cara
At the age of 19, she published her first debut single, Here. It was a huge hit and received praise from the public and from critics. It reached number 19 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in the year 2015. The same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which peaked on the Billboard charts including The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. In an interview that Cara did with Rap Up, the track had lots in the minds of many of the listeners who related to her tale of accepting and loving your self. Cara is known for incorporating messages about emotional health, kindness, and self-love into her music. Everything stems from her personal experience as she struggled with mental health issues as well as insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she describes the album as being half turbulent and half complete. The therapy she received helped her grow and urges people to try it too. This was her beginning musically. A few years later, at 13 she began covering her favorite songs through YouTube an important media platform to prove to the world she was talented and determination to develop into a singer.
