Alessia Cara

At the age of 19 at the time, she dropped Here, her first single. It was an instant hit that both critics and the fans were awed by the song. It made it to the top 19 in both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. This same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five songs she wrote that made it to Billboard's chart. In an interview that Cara did with Rap Up, this particular song held a lot of meaning for many people who listened to her tale of finding acceptance and appreciation for your self. Cara's tracks often contain positive thoughts about mental wellness and how important it is to love yourself. Her music is a reflection of her own struggles in dealing with anxiety and depression. In an Reuters interview she describes her album as half tumultuous and half complete. She claims she has grown through therapy and she encourages anyone else to seek out help when they need it. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. Her birth date was July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian descent. Her parents gifted her with guitar at the age of 10 years old, which ignited her love for music. Three years later, when she was 13 she started singing her favorite tracks through YouTube. It proved to be a fantastic opportunity to show others the fact that she had the talent and the courage. Sweater Weather is among the covers that resulted in her being noticed at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label gave her the opportunity to create the songs she wrote herself.
